Problem: I personally noticed that the relationship between men and women really weakened. They no longer communicated well, and due to the evolvement of women nowadays, men began to see women more as their competitors rather than their partners. Love between any couple, for example, hardly survived.

Mission Statement:

Through Ben, I want to enter groups of men and introduce my own thoughts about relationships. I want to examine the way they think about love and the way they deal with women. Therefore, I would give advises on how to make the love between couples survive and how to be able to solve their problems and reaching to a solution that appeals to both. I want to advice men on how to deal with women’s emotions, and how to enter a women’s heart and win her trust. On the other hand, I was Ben to be able to change sex to female and become ‘Bena’. Bena would also introduce herself to a group of girls and affect them with her advices on relationships and how to deal with men and their weird moods for example. She would also teach ladies how to win a man’s heart and make her man fall heads over heels for her!

The whole point of my mission is to spread the love between men and women and raise the white flag in their competition of ‘who’s better?’

Edward Said rejected this generalization pointing out that the culture is a very complex composition. Said argues from a different perspective and defining cultures as a mixture of different civilizations. He mentions that throughout history, cultures have been mixing together and being affected by one another. On the contrary, Huntington’s viewpoint was much narrower and one-dimensional.

Not only did Said refuse Huntington’s generalizations, but he also found it ignorant to speak of a whole civilization in such a judgmental and simplistic way. In addition to that Huntington’s argument was not based on truthful and valid evidence.

strengths :

Edward Said is a very smart critic and that goes back to his wide experience and his further knowledge. He passes his points and ideas to the reader easily and his sentences and well constructed therefore, easy to understand and absorb. The whole topic was strong itself and made a controversy therefore he proved his argument carefully and validly.

weaknesses :

I did not find weaknesses in his article and that is because he argued it so carefully that he gave proven evidence for each point he made; so not even to be accused of being bias.

This article talk about how the virtual world is becoming more important and soon it will overcome the other online communities such as MySpace. It is no more considered as a game but rather a real world that exists in a virtual meaning. Moreover, Second Life has a similar social life in which an avatar would meet with another and be socially involved.

This site viewed videos that demonstrated how second life helps in learning. For example, an avatar in second life can actually attend a science conference that teaches knowledge and information about science. In addition it could also offer real-time weather cast for the real world through the second life. One can also visit an art museum and learn more about real art and see other people’s artwork. Second life does not only stand for entertainment, but also stands as an e-learning medium that could be useful in the real world.

#4 – Choose The Future of Interactive Fiction

This new concept addresses books and how readers can be involved in deciding the ending or the beginning of an adventure or to a certain hero. This no longer counts the reader as a passive one, rather it makes him or her be a part of the book’s experience. Such books like ‘ The Warlock of Firetop Mountain’ have been re-issued and re-packaged.  There are Three main strands for the re-emergence of the book format. First strand is that it has to be pure nostalgia. The second strand that it is the appropriation of the formula. Last strand in the development of interactive fiction, takes the idea in a different direction.

How do all these concepts relate?

All of these newly introduced concepts are related in a way that they all address society. But they address it in a sense that makes the society itself involved in the act. Second life makes people create an avatar that represents them in a virtual world, books’ plots now can be controlled by readers therefore controlling other characters in a story through their own experience, moreover, the Yes Man also is about people impersonating and being public about it for society’s greater good. Therefore, all of these concepts lead to people being able to have the experience in being someone else somewhere else. The virtual life is competing the real life; what happens in the virtual life does actually affect the real one and vise versa.

- New systems of robots exist in war and the immense development is increasing in the American military. For example, a robo-soldier named TALCON which is remodeled into a “killer-app” with different weapons such as M-16 rifle and a rocket launcher.

-Machines will soon overcome humans in terms of learning abilities and speed which is very important at war.

- Humans’ role is questiosned in the existance of the robots. The idea of trust between humans and robots should exist in order for both to funstion properly at war.

- People and their military in the fields should be linked in two ways; through government policies and democracy’s free media.

- The idea of Video war existing that would allow people at home to witness what really occurs in war incidents.

- Even if machines and robots do replace human soldiers, this will not erase the brutality and the complexity of war.

On the 17th of October, 2009 which was yesterday, was my 21 birthday. It was one of the best weekends I have ever had. All friends and family were by myside. I would like to share some pictures of my speical day. I would also like to use this opportunity to thank everyone who was there by myside bringing up a smile on my face. I would not have made it so far without you all.

Back in school, my sister had a tutor for playing the oud instrument. So I woke up that day, ran down the stairs to fix myself a cup of warm coffee, and in the kitchen, there I was singing as loud as I can, not realizing we had guests!.

Then, when I plan to shut up, I hear someone clapping as hard as it could get.. I go to the living room and see the music teacher looking at me with a wide smile on his face.. then, it all started.

I joined his choral band who played and sang authentic cultural arabic music. We went on tours into different cities for live concerts. Three months later he began giving me solos, as in singing by myself with a band behind me. It was very exciting for me but there on stage I just found myself.

although sometimes i am in no mood for a crowd or for talking out loud, on stage, i forget all my fear, all my worries and just perform in my empty world hearing nothing but the echo of my voice.

I am a beautiful young girl from a Syrian nationality who’s born and lived in the United Arab Emirates most of my life. I know how you are wondering how arrogant of me to speak beautifuly of myself, but I am a normal girl just like any other girl who would smile when hearing a compliment.  A beautiful soul, in my opinion, is a fortune one can maintain.

It was the first time I tasted gnocchi, an Italian recipe, when I moved in with Jessica my lovely roommate. It’s funny how I describe my relationship with her, but it’s like a husband and a wife. She cooks and I wash the plates, she sleeps and I annoy her with my singing, she cries and breaks her phone while I wait her outside the bathroom floor. Even my mom feels jealous when i speak of Jessica.

Mom, I won’t say she is the best mom in the world because that would be a bias exaggeration. But, I with no doubt, if given the chance to chose a mother it would be her. Although she is sometimes moody and hard to handle, but I would understand considering a women who’s raising up four girls. My three other sisters are wonderful, we’re like a key chain, one fore all and all for one. Ghalia the oldest, she is my secret box. Laila the middle one, she’s a teenage version of me. And Dana, the youngest, oh! she is the boss! Having the house full of girls is so much fun, but dont think that’s what dad thinks all the time.

Dad, he is a typicall father who works day and night to support his family. I have a strong relationship with him, man to man kind of relation. I can tell him anything that pops into my mind although it annoys him when i speak of my future plans and career dreams. It scares him knowing that one day each one of us will have a different path and support her own. I try to tell him that I’ll never leave him, he is in the heart, and he would answer me back with a smile and tearing eyes.

‘Your family is the most important thing in your life’, this is what Elias always told me. Elias is the person I share my mind, heart, life with. He is someone I would love to keep on loving for the rest of my life. Through his eyes I see hope, and through his words I learn lessons. Falling in love is a beautiful thing, but growing old with that same person is just like a satisfying accomplishment in life.

Going back to me, I look in the mirror everyday trying to identify myself, I wonder for hours. Around my family, and the people I love is where I find myself, it’s just like getting to know someone knew everyday. Kind of spooky and weird, but my reason for tomorrow.
